She's minoring in Music?

Today I got an e-mail from The School of Family Life. They e-mailed all 8 April graduates who are minoring in Music. The question asked, would you like to do a musical number at the Friday April 22nd graduation ceremony. I think it would be fun but before I tell them yes I want to find the perfect song.

Does anyone out there have a really stellar suggestion for a song to sing at a graduation? I'm trying to find a song that has a happy "go forward with life" feeling like "I Hope You Dance" but less mainstream cheesy than that song. I am NOT looking for a nostalgic "I'll miss this place" kind of song that you might hear at a high school graduation.

Better yet, do any of my friends who are more musically inclined than me want to write a killer song for a graduation so that I can do an original? (You can come play your piece if you want and I'll sing it.) I'd even be interested in collaborating with someone.

Think about it and help me out people!

Blessing

Kevin was blessed on January 2nd.
He was wearing short sleeves because this was Damien's outfit and it was conveniently already downstairs at my mom's... yeah I'm that lazy!

Ryan did a great job and we loved having all the family with us.

PS Chelsie definitely got a shout out from the pulpit during one girls testimony...

Christmas?

So looking through my SD card I realized I'm not all that far behind... There aren't any great pictures on our camera from christmas :/

We spent Christmas eve with the Hightowers and most of Christmas day with my family.
This picture is awesome just because Trev is taking the whole tray and Kaylee looks awesome in the background :)

Aunt Kristi gave these 3 monkeys a bath Christmas night and they were pretty funny.

Here's Kevin too. He get's left out of too many posts.
It's a video because Ryan had the camera and has this idea that everything should be video and then if you want a picture you can take a still from the video... who thinks like that besides him?

If wishes were pennies...

Let me start by acknowledging that I know that I am SUPER BLESSED! I'm writing this blog from my brand new laptop (with built in SD slot which means more picture blogs once I remember where I last put my camera.) All of my needs and basic wants have pretty much always been met.
Still it's fun to think about what I would buy for myself if I had lots of money to spare :)
In no particular order, here are the ones that come to mind right now...
* A mommy necklace or two ( http://www.mommynecklaces.com) Plus any new jewelry in general.
* A pass to a gym with a day care
* A membership to either Jillian Michaels or Weight Watchers online
* An iPod touch to go with that WW membership... count points! (In case you can't tell my real wish is to get back to my smaller jean days!)
* A classy wardrobe
* A baby bullet (a regular one would do just fine too)
* Doula certification (this will require more time than it will money so I'm waiting till I finish school.)
*A house :)
* A Ford Grand C max (which Chase says won't be in America until 2012)

The truth is, even if we had more money I'd probably still be pretty stingy with it...

What about you? Anything you'd put on your list?

update...

Here is the verdict on Kaylee.

She finally cried as she pushed out a bunch of solid poop. She was constipated and it really hurt the poor thing. More fruits, veggies, and juice coming her way!

As a side note this experience and my others with the health center finally made me decide to seek out a new doctor for my kids. I found out today that one of the pediatricians in Taylorsville that my midwives recommend is covered by my insurance (this means they pay 80% of the bill instead of just charging me the $10 for a visit at the health center)

I also called the pediatric urologists who saw Kevin and told them what was going on and they said that as long as the bag is changed every 30 minutes the urine sample is fine... no catheter needed! And they said if blood was found in her urine that it not something to ignore and that I should for sure re test the urine.

I've scheduled an appt to test her urine with this Taylorsville pediatrician and do not have to go all the way to Provo and get the run around anymore!

What is a mom to do?

Something is not quite tight with Kaylee but we haven't figured out what yet.... I'll tell the whole story and if you have any ideas/ suggestions please help!

On the 23rd Kaylee started saying she was poopy even though she wasn't. She wanted her diaper changed. On Christmas eve she started whining that her diaper hurt. She wanted to wipe herself endlessly. I called a pediatric hotline and they said the same thing I was thinking... probably a bladder infection. Despite her having no fever I took her into an insta care (the health center was closed on christmas eve) to test her urine. I was afraid she would develop a fever on Christmas day and we'd have no where to take her. They put a bag on her and she HATED it. She wouldn't pee for the longest time. Then when we took the urine in the test came back with blood cells in it so they assumed it was an infection and prescribed an antibiotic. Over the weekend they cultured the urine and no bacteria grew. They told me I could take her off the antibiotic and said I should do another urine analysis. I took her to the health for the second urine analysis and the doctor there said it would be best to finish the antibiotics anyway to be certain there was no infection and then come back and test her. We finished the antibiotic and went back yesterday. The doctor yesterday said bag urine testing is pointless because studies show you never know if the test is accurate. Since Kaylee hasn't been complaining much lately he said not to worry about it. She has been uncharacteristically emotional recently but I chalked it up to being a 2 year old. She has said her diaper hurts but not in the same crying tone she did on the 24th so I thought she had just heard me say it too much and didn't know what she was talking about. The other strange thing is she gets out of bed every night now which is a habit we had broken her of a while ago.

Today she decided to start complaining again. (The day after a doctor says don't worry about it.) She's said she's poopy when she's not, asked for a diaper change repeatedly, said her diaper hurts, refused a diaper, wiped herself over and over, rubbed herself and complained a lot in the tub, whined a lot, walked funny, and at times wouldn't sit down... She won't let me look at her or touch her either so I haven't been able to get a good look. She closes he legs and yells stop it mommy. I have considered that both times might have something to do with having a hard time pooping.

To get a sterile urine sample they will have to do a catheter which is painful and traumatic for 2 year olds. Doctors avoid them at all costs when dealing with children near potty training ages. Something definitely isn't right but I'm not sure testing the urine is what is needed. She doesn't look rashy or like she has a yeast infection. I kind of got a glimpse and it looks like she might be red inside a bit.

I just feel like the doctors keep giving me the run around and I don't think I 100% trust the doctors at the health center. I'm not sure who to talk to or what to do next... I'm tired of going to the health center all the way down in Provo for them to just say that we came in for nothing!
I'm afraid of being an overzealous mom who worries about too much and on the flip side I'm afraid of ignoring a problem that needs fixing.
I can't find any information on the internet that provides me with an idea of what these actions in a 2 year old might indicate.

Any thoughts?
